GRIERSON 1

Grierson Trust Doc Lab in Focus: Editing

At the end of 2022 I was selected for the prestigious Grierson Trust Editing Doc Lab which partners young editors with a Netflix production. I was fortunate enough to get placed on a project with Grain Media, a production company I have dreamed of working with since the start of my career. I worked as a Junior Editor with Grain for ten months on a feature documentary that will be released on Netflix in Summer 2024.

THE DISRUPTORS

In Production

For this project, I worked as an editor for London-based Director Isabel Steuble-Johnson and Homecoming Films on a mockumentary following social media agency, The Disruptors, as they pitch the idea to create a fake politician to sell Ice Cream. But things soon spiral when he stands a chance of becoming the next president of the United States of America. Currently in production.

The film follows the story of Melania Geymonat as she comes to terms with the viral attention she received after enduring a homophobic attack on a London bus in 2019. So far this trailer has gone on to secure development meetings at several festivals worldwide.

HAPPY NAKED PEOPLE

Documentary Short (2020)

Across the world over 70 communities gather annually to cycle nude through the streets. Happy Naked People explores their passionate stand for road safety, body positivity and climate change awareness as well as the challenges riding in the nude can present depending on your postcode.

'Happy Naked People' was created out of the challenge set by the Quarantine International Film Festival during the Covid-19 pandemic. At a time when people are disconnected physically, we wanted to use online interviews to bring together perspectives from across the globe, to explore an event which is so at odds with our current situation and ultimately make a film which celebrates community and the spirit of banding together under a common cause.

Their coach, Max, is unrelenting, but he’s getting results – the team has been undefeated for two years - and in Barcelona, a city so synonymous with football, even in a local league, that’s a record worth taking notice of.
